We are pleased to announce that, starting in September 2024, Julie Peaks will assume the role of Principal at Wyke Sixth Form College. Julie’s journey at Wyke began as a Head of Department, progressing to Head of Faculty, then Assistant Principal, and subsequently Vice Principal, leading to her current role as Deputy Principal.
Julie, reflecting on her new position, expressed, "I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of Principal from August 2024. I have worked at Wyke for 20 years and have been very proud to do so. My current role is that of Deputy Principal and my previous roles included Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, Head of Faculty, and Head of Department. I am extremely passionate about offering the best possible education and experience for our students, which will prepare them fully for their future. It is an honour and a privilege to become Principal and I will endeavour to continue to lead the college to become the best Sixth Form College in the country."
Her extensive experience and deep commitment to education have significantly contributed to Wyke’s reputation as a leading educational institution. Julie's dedication to student success and her vision for the future of the college make her an excellent choice for this prestigious role.
Current Principal Paul Britton will transition to the role of Chief Executive Officer, where he will maintain oversight of Wyke’s operations while dedicating more time to developing the Wyke Learning Trust. This strategic shift will allow Paul to broaden the impact of Wyke’s educational philosophy and initiatives.
Paul remarked, "Julie’s leadership and passion for education have been evident throughout her career at Wyke. I am confident that under her leadership, Wyke will continue to thrive and offer exceptional education to our students. In my new role as CEO, I will work closely with Julie to ensure a smooth transition and to support the continued success of the college."
Julie will lead the daily operations of the college, ensuring that all students receive the outstanding education, support, and development that Wyke is renowned for. Her appointment marks a new chapter in Wyke’s journey towards becoming the best Sixth Form College in the country.
