The 2024 A level Media Studies grades are officially amongst the best results in the country. The student’s grades have been independently analysed to achieve an ALPS Grade 1. ALPS is a target setting system that calculates subject-specific predictor's for A Levels based on a student’s GCSE average point score.
So, what does that mean? This year, all A Level Media Studies students achieved at least one whole grade higher than what they were predicted to achieve based upon their GCSE achievements.
When measured against national outcomes you can see how impressive the grades achieved by Wyke students are. Of the 48 students who took the exam, an amazing 50% (24 students) achieved an A*-A compared to only11.3% nationally. A 100% of the course achieved A*-C. No Ds, no Es, no Us.
Former Sirius Academy North student, Gabriel Daiescu achieved an A* in Media Studies together with an A in Film Studies and a B in History. Gabriel has progressed to University of York to study BSc(Hons) Film and Television Production, exceeding his offer of AAB.
