Former Newland School for Girls student, Channia Farr, has had her work published on a national education website.
Channia, who studies A levels in Film Studies, Photography and Graphics, was one of the cinematographers on a documentary project coordinated by the British Film Institute (BFI). The short film features two climate change activists, including Phoebe Plummer from Just Stop Oil, discussing their tactics for helping curb climate change whilst sharing their fears.
The BFI is linked with Wyke through both the curriculum and as part of the Wyke Media Hub enrichment. TrueTube is distributing the film on their web platform for educational institutions across the country as a resource to be used in RE, PSHE and Citizenship lessons.
The Wyke Media Hub enrichment is open to all students, regardless of their study programme, if they have an interest in developing their media skills. If you want to find out more, then visit the Enrichment Fair at Wyke Start and at the beginning of the academic year.
