Return to College Plans

<< Back to all news

Due to the recent government annoucement, Wyke has revised the return to college plans. In summary:

  • w/c Tuesday 5th January – remote working for all students
  • w/c Monday 11th January - year 2 onsite, year 1 remote
  • w/c Monday 18th January - year 1 onsite, year 2 remote

We will be in contact with all the students on our vulnerable list on Monday 4th January to make sure we have the best arrangements in place to support your learning during remote teaching. The emphasis will be a bit different to before Christmas. We will be expecting all students to work remotely unless they absolutely must come onsite. Transport will be provided for any students who do need to come onsite but the full college transport system will not be running in the week commencing Tuesday 5th January.

For those students who use the college transport system, we will refund you the lost four days of travel in your next ticket. All bursary students will receive their payments via BACS for next week.

Examinations:

BTEC examinations are planned for w/c 11th January. These will go ahead as planned.

Criminology exams for some second years were planned for w/c 5th January. We are now reviewing these plans in the light of the guidance and we will confirm the new plan as soon as we have made it.

Testing:

We now have next week to put together our plans for testing students and staff onsite. There is lots of information and training coming out about this and we will share full details with you all through next week once we have the details (and the kit).

Please visit your college email for further details.
