PRE-MED in Good Health

<< Back to all news

Wyke’s outstanding Pre-Medical enrichment is just getting better and better! This established programme specially designed to assist students on their journey to becoming a doctor, dentist or a vet has produced some excellent outcomes.

Former Newland School for Girls student Saya Ali has been offered of a place to study Medicine at Hull York Medical School, whilst former Archbishop Sentamu student Peter Brown is in the privileged position of choosing between Leeds, Edinburgh and Hull York to study medicine. There are only 58 universities in the UK that offer degrees in Veterinary Medicine, making the competition to gain a place highly competitive. By working with the assistance of the Wyke Pre-Medical programme, former Withernsea student Lily Curtiss has received an offer from Bristol University to study Veterinary Medicine.

Of the 26 students who applied for these highly competitive university degrees, 20 were invited for interview, with 17 receiving offers. Remarkably, 5 students received offers from all 4 of the medical schools they had applied to.
