Former Wyke Media and IT student, James Weston, has been in-touch about some exciting developments in his creative animation and special effects career.
James is now living in Vancouver, Canada, working as a build technical director for the computer animation company DNEG. Since graduating from Teesside University with a first-class degree, James has worked for a range of renowned post-production houses that have enabled him to work on a wide portfolio of feature films, television programmes and advertising campaigns. His recent credits include Disney’s “Godmothered”, “Secrets of Dumbledore”, “Matrix Resurrections” and promotional campaigns for Sony PlayStation and EA Sports.
Head of Media Rebecca Ives said, “It’s great to hear from our former students. So many of them are now working in the media industry as photographers, animators, and film producers. It’s really inspiring for our current students to see that there are some fantastic opportunities out there for them to explore. It all starts here at Wyke, just like James when he produced his first short animation for his coursework.”
