Wyke is looking to recruit a committed and inspiring teacher of Music skilled in engaging students and creating an environment conducive to achievement. The successful candidate will:

• Be keen to embrace our culture of high standards and a commitment to development

• Be a skilled teacher who delivers engaging lessons that draw the best performance from students

• Have the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues and understand the factors that lead to high levels of student achievement

• Potential to teach on the Btec Digital Music Production (Extended Certificate): Have an understanding of the music production sector with a focus on music and sound for media and DAW production

• For Btec Digital Music Production: Have strong technical skills, including the ability to use Ableton, mixing and mastering and studio recording techniques

• Potential to teach on the ALevel Music course: Have an understanding of the skills required within Appraising, Composition and Performance

• For ALevel Music: Have strong technical skills, including Sibelius software and knowledge of all relevant musical elements (Harmony, Melody, Structure etc)

• Ideally contribute to music enrichment including ‘Wyke Sesh’, Orchestra, other performances, liaising with peripatetic staff and the College production

• State your specialism within your application

The college has a very strong music department with students consistently having achieved excellent results in recent years. Teachers within the department support students with a range of extra-curricular activities which have helped contribute to the department’s strong outcomes and students’ commitment to the subject. Music performances by bands, singers, the college orchestra, choirs and ensembles are a valued and regular feature on the College calendar. The successful candidate will contribute to these performances which take place both at internal and external venues.

All posts at the College are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and it is an offence for those barred from working with children to even apply for a role at the College.
