Wyke is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher or Head of Subject to join this experienced and hardworking department to make a difference to the lives of our students. The geography department currently has approximately 160 students and 2 members of staff. Lessons are split into 2 lessons of human a week and 2 lessons of physical a week. The optional topics currently studied are coastal systems, hazards and contemporary urban environments. An annual trip to Iceland is offered as well as 3 fieldwork days.

The successful candidate will:

• Be keen to embrace our culture of high standards and commitment to development.

• Be a qualified teacher or working towards that, be knowledgeable in the subject area, and deliver engaging lessons that draw the best performance from students.

• Have the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues and understand the factors that lead to high levels of student achievement.

• Teach on the A-Level Geography course.
