Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to contribute to a successful and highly ambitious College that is already in the top 5% of Sixth Form Colleges in the country. Wyke is an established, popular Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield. The largest and one of the most successful A Level providers in the area, we offer applicants the opportunity to work alongside committed colleagues who have enabled our students to achieve high levels of success. At Wyke we put the student first and all decisions centre around staff working together to meet their best interests.

We are seeking an experienced administrator to work in our busy Exams team to ensure smooth running of our internal and external exams. The role will be varied and involve detailed administration, planning of rooming for exams and invigilation schedules, and communication with invigilation and teaching staff.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and able to manage a diverse workload. They will have substantial administrative experience and strong communication skills. Experience of working in an education environment would also be advantageous but not essential. Some flexibility in working hours would be required, increasing the number of hours worked before and during the exam periods. Flexibility would be available in the normal working days and times, to suit the appointee and the role requirements.

We offer a forward-thinking, welcoming college with supportive management and a modern environment. Benefits include a strong programme of staff development and membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. We are lucky to work with great students who are here to learn and 93% of staff said they would recommend the College as a good place to work in the summer 2024 Staff Pulse Survey. We welcome applications from a diverse range of applicants and would love our staff ethnicity and cultural profile to closely match the student population we serve.

The College takes safeguarding extremely seriously and a full range of pre-employment checks including a satisfactory enhanced DBS with barred list check will be required for this post.
