The trip offers 30 A-Level students from Philosophy, Sociology, and Classical Civilisation will embark on an exciting four-day educational adventure to Rome. Led by teachers and subject specialists, the trip will provide a unique opportunity to experience history, religion, and culture first hand in the Eternal City.
Claire Bhana, Head of Philosophy, highlighted the significance of the trip for students across different subjects:
“For Classical Civilisation students, the visit to the Colosseum and Roman Forum will be particularly relevant. For RS and Sociology students (who study a unit on Beliefs and Values in Society and look at the function and role of religion in society), the trip will give students the opportunity to see faith in action, to witness religious practice, and to see the historical impact of religion on our society and what it continues to mean to people today.”
The group’s itinerary is packed with key historical and cultural landmarks:
This immersive experience will allow students to bridge the gap between their academic studies and the real-world significance of history, philosophy, and religion. From the grandeur of the Vatican to the echoes of gladiatorial battles in the Colosseum, Rome will prove to be an inspiring classroom like no other.
