Come along to the Wyke campus to celebrate results day 2021 with your friends, teachers, and support staff.Here's a detailed guide to our results days from Principal Paul Britton that has been emailed to all our leavers."I’m looking forward to seeing those of you who are receiving results through this week. We have the level 3 (A level and vocational) results day on Tuesday 10th August, followed by GCSE results day on Thursday 12th August. College is open so you can collect your results and the team will be available if any of you need support.Level 3 Results DayResults will be available to collect in the Oak building from 8.30am on 10th August. You are welcome to bring family with you. We ask you to pick up your results from the Oak building and then take them out to the courtyard to open them. After that, please see the tutor team in the library to confirm your destination after Wyke. Results will also be available on the Student Portal.Should you need further advice and guidance, the tutor and careers team will be available to help you in the library.Covid infection rates are still high in the local area so please do follow all the guidance we have become familiar with over the last year. We recommend taking a test in advance and responding accordingly. Hands, face, space are still the best ways of controlling the spread of the virus so please maintain good hygiene and keep your distance where you can. We recommend that you wear a face covering when you are moving about inside and can’t guarantee that distance will be maintained however this is now a personal choice. The event will be busy so please do your bit to look after each other.GCSE results dayResults will available in the Oak building from 8:30. The results will also be available on Student Portal.If you are not happy with your gradesThe first thing to do is to come and speak to our tutorial and careers team who will be able to help you consider all the options for your next step.There will be the opportunity to resit exam courses in the autumn, a small number of students did this last year and were successful. With the exception of Art and Design subjects, the assessment for the autumn 2021 exam series will consist entirely of written examinations. There will be no coursework or non-exam assessment, and any coursework or NEA completed previously will not count towards the grade you are awarded. If you wish to be entered an examination, complete the form in your results envelope. There will be no cost for this.You can also appeal against the results. However, you do need to be clear that, unless there was an administrative error, there is a high bar for results to be altered. Teacher Assessed Grades will only be altered if they are ‘an unreasonable exercise of academic judgement’. I expect that at least one grade higher or lower than the Teacher Assessed Grade is likely to be considered ‘reasonable’. So, if you were awarded a C and you think you should have been awarded a B, it is unlikely that this would be overturned. You do need to be aware that your grade could go down as well as up. Priority appeals are for those students who have not received the grades needed for their firm choice of university, these appeals need to be lodged by the 16th August.
