Wyke Proud is an organisation run by LGBT+ people for LGBT+ people and allies. We meet once every other week to discuss LGBT issues and for fun an informative sessions. We also work towards supporting the Student Executive collaboratively with our annual Wyke Pride event, held in June each year.
The society is a safe space for people to be themselves, free from the worries of discrimination or intolerance, and a chance to meet new friends that share similar interests.
The society is run by students with staff support, offering real leadership and organisation opportunities and development, which looks good on any application for higher education, jobs or apprenticeships.
This enrichment takes place every other Friday lunchtime.
You can meet LGBT+ people, and there are opportunities for leadership roles. You can also develop other life skills as you will have a hand in organising LGBT+ themed events around the college including Wyke Pride.
There is no cost associated just come along. Friends and allies also welcome.
