Last year, the PE, Sport and Dance teachers at Wyke proudly won the Gold Award for “FE Teaching Team of the Year”. These prestigious awards are sponsored by Pearson Education, and backed by the BBC and the Department for Education.In the build up to this year’s awards, The Teaching Awards Trust, who coordinate and celebrate excellence in teaching, are promoting “The Thank a Teacher Day” on 20th May.The aim of the day is to raise the profile of the teaching profession, highlight the positive impact teachers and school leaders have with pupils, parents and the wider community, and show teachers how much they are valued.We’ve all had a great teacher.
