Congratulations to Beth Barwell on winning the “Apprentice of the Year” at the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards 2021. This is not the first time Beth has been recognised, having already been a finalist in the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards 2019.After studying A levels in Geography, Business Studies, Physical Education and Human Biology at Wyke, Beth progressed to the University of Kent to read BSc Bioscience Technology. After graduating with first-class honours, Beth returned to Hull to start a Higher Degree Apprenticeship with RB. Here she initially worked with the RB eyecare team until moving to specialise in Global Medical Affairs for RB's Sexual Wellbeing brands.Alongside being a member of Wyke’s Flyers, a group of high attainment students, Beth was also strongly involved in sport, representing Great Britain Ice Hockey since 2014. Her athletic career took Beth to compete in World Championship tournaments across the globe, winning a bronze medal in South Korea.According to the Hull Daily Mail, Beth’s professionalism and business acumen has been recognised by all she has worked with, and RB said it was “in awe” at the level and standard of her work.RB said looking ahead, Beth would be “a force to be reckoned with” in her career.
