At Wyke, we believe that a rounded study programme goes beyond your academic course choices, as gaining great qualifications is just one aspect of your time here. There is an expectation that all students engage in some form of enrichment during their time at Wyke.
Enrichments will form a key part of your application process and our staff will spend time matching our enrichment opportunities to your interests and future goals. The overall aim is to provide a range of engaging opportunities and experiences for all students to expand new and current interests, improve independence, build character and resilience and – most importantly – to develop a love for learning.
Participating in enrichment opportunities whilst studying at Wyke will enable you to showcase yourself as an individual, not just a learner and help you to stand out from the crowd when applying for university, apprenticeships or work.

Academic Enrichments
The expertise and passion from subject teachers filters into our Enrichment Programme, with many teachers offering a range of academic societies, competitions and qualifications to develop knowledge, skills and interest in a particular area, supporting you with your next steps.
Clubs and Societies
Join one of our fantastic clubs or societies to expand on current interests or just to try out something new. These are a great way to make new friends and contribute to the wider college community.
Whole College Enrichments
From joining a sports team or squad to playing an instrument, this is a great way to meet and make new friends and improve your teamwork and leadership skills, all whilst improving your physical health. Be sure to keep an eye on the college production launch.
Helping you reach academic excellence through ambitious targeted support and opportunities to stretch and challenge yourselves to gain additional knowledge and qualifications. You will be encouraged to be inquisitive, think big, experiment and have high expectations of what you can achieve
Encouraging healthy competition through academic challenges, sports, and creative contests. You will have the opportunity to benchmark your skills and competencies against regional and national standards, and celebrate your success through formal competitive structures.
Promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility, you will be supported to take positive green action and help work towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. This is focused on activities improving both your carbon hand print and foot print in the world.
Prioritising physical and mental health through a range of different activities and support networks. These activities will help you maintain balance in your Wyke study programme and build positive habits for life to ensure your health and wellbeing is a priority during your time at Wyke.
Equipping you with the information, advice and experiences to thrive beyond college and be ready for the world. You will receive guidance to be able to decide and progress down the right progression pathway for you; whether in higher education, degree apprenticeships, apprenticeships or the workplace.
