Please ensure that you bring the appropriate equipment for your lessons such as a notepad and pens, and required clothing for subjects such as Sport and Drama, Dance and Performing Arts.

Parental Consent

We require parent/guardian consent for students to attend Wyke Start. To do this, Parents/Guardians can complete a short Microsoft forms by following this link: Consent Form

Subject Specific Information

A small selection of subjects will be conducting assessments or auditions during the Wyke Start period. If you have applied to study any of the below course, please read the pre-Wyke Start information below:

Transport Information for September

Details of how to get to Wyke are available at: wyke.ac.uk/travelling-to-wyke/. You can also find further information at: Transport Guidance

All of the bus routes advertised on our website will be running and will be free of charge during Wyke Start. If you cannot use the College bus routes, you can claim reimbursement for your fares during Wyke Start for any other public transport used by providing the tickets. The buses will arrive at college for 9.00am in the morning and leave College at 3.45pm on both days of Wyke Start.

College Catering

If you are buying food from our catering facilities, please ensure that you bring money with you. We will be offering a barbecue at lunchtime on the 2nd day of Wyke Start which is free.

Financial Support and ParentPay Information

To apply for financial support through the College bursary and/or government-funded free school meals you will need to complete an application form and provide supporting evidence. The application process will open on Wednesday 1st June and  further information on this including the application form can be found at: wyke.ac.uk/parents/financial-support-and-costs/

Applications can be submitted throughout the year but for successful awards to be in place for the start of the academic year, applications and correct supporting evidence must be submitted by Sunday, 31 July 2022. An overview of the support the College offers can be found at Financial Support and Guidance. 

Summer Work

At Wyke Start, each of your subjects will have set you compulsory summer work to  complete over the holidays to help you prepare for your courses in September. If you were unable to attend Wyke Start, you are still required to complete this work. Please complete this to the best of your ability and bring it along on your first day at Wyke, Thursday 8th September.

You can complete summer work online and print this off (where a word document has been provided) or by hand and bring this on your first day.
