Paul Britton Principal’s Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to officially invite you to our Virtual Wyke Start taster event on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th July. Following the government’s recent announcement to delay the lifting of restrictions and the DfE guidelines, we have had to make the decision to run Wyke Start virtually. An outline for both days can be seen below.
Day 1 Monday 5th July
Our Principal, Paul Britton will open the event with a live meet and greet session at 9.00am.
Following on from this, you will have the opportunity to experience live lessons in each of your chosen subjects alongside one tutorial session. Please refer to your individual timetable which was sent by email and post. You can access your lessons at their allocated timeslots by following the event link that was sent to you by email and letter.
Over lunch (12.30pm-1.30pm), we have a fantastic line up of live performances, enrichments, interviews and more from current students and staff for you to enjoy.
Confirming your Course Choices
On Monday 5th July, following your live lessons, you are required to confirm your chosen subjects in priority order on your applicant portal. The deadline for this is midnight on Monday 5th July.
If you are still unsure or feel you would benefit from some further advice and guidance, please use the applicant portal to request a call from a member of our friendly team. This call will take place on Tuesday 6th July and you will have the choice between a morning or afternoon call.
For advice on accessing the applicant portal, please watch our short information video.

- Face masks are to be worn (unless exempt) throughout the tour.
- Tour groups will be a maximum of six. Social distancing should be maintained between family bubbles.

Trips and Enrichment Evening
On Tuesday evening at 6pm, we have a Virtual Trips and Enrichment Showcase for yourself and parents/guardians. This is an opportunity to learn about all the fantastic experiences you can take part in during your time as a Wyke student. You can access this virtually through our website and social media channels.
Auditions and Assessments
A small selection of subjects will be conducting assessments or auditions on Wednesday 7th July. Relevant students have been contacted with the necessary information.
