What is the Flyers Programme?
The Wyke Flyers Programme is designed to further support our students in achieving outstanding success and preparing them for transition to highly competitive universities such as the Russell Group and Oxbridge, higher apprenticeships or employment into competitive industries.
The Programme has various elements of which students can choose to best reflect their study programme and future ambitions. The key elements of the Flyers Programme are:
- Regular Flyers forums
- Mentoring opportunities
- Super-curricular activities
- Russell Group and Oxbridge university visits and virtual experiences
- Workshops and additional UCAS support
- Foreign cultural visits
The Programme also has two route specific elements which students can choose as an addition to the Flyers Programme, these are the Pre-Medical Programme and Oxbridge Programme.
How do I become part of the Programme?
We offer the programme to students who are academic high flyers achieving mainly 7s and 8s in their GCSE’s.
However, the programme is not exclusive; throughout the year, students with excellent progress in their exams can join the programme. In addition, students may also join certain strands of the Programme such as applying for trips or engaging in the Oxbridge Programme.
