In February, Wyke is hosting “The Subject Matters”, the University of Cambridge outreach conference targeted at students who are looking to apply to a selective, research-led university. Current students and students from our partner institutions have been invited to this event which will also welcome former student Katie Craven who is currently reading Psychology at Cambridge.
A Level subject choices made at sixth form college can have a major impact on course and university options. A significant number of very bright and capable students fail to gain places at selective universities because they are not studying the most appropriate subjects.
When assessing applicants at the University of Cambridge, they consider not only the individual A Level subjects but also the combination of subjects. For many courses Russell Group Universities require applicants to have taken certain subjects, or combinations of subjects, because they provide an effective preparation for study at university.
The evening will be held on 9th February at 7.00pm in the Oak Theatre and concludes at 8.30pm, with an opportunity to ask further questions.
