Throughout your time at Wyke Sixth Form College, you will be given the opportunity to experience many of our field trips spanning the globe. Many of our trips are open to all students across the college and some are subject specific. Some of our most recent visits include:
A fantastic opportunity to visit a global centre of media, business and finance. Students will visit Ground Zero, photograph the city’s iconic skyline from the top of the Empire State Building, take the Manhattan Ferry to the Statue of Liberty and experience the city’s outstanding museum exhibitions.
Our Geography students travel to either Italy or Iceland every year to take what they have learnt in the classroom and put it into practice, in some wonderful environments.
If your interests are within history and politics then the cross college trip will interest you. Aside from visiting all the key monuments and sites, there will also be a tour of the Capitol Building with an opportunity to see the Senate and Congress in-session.
Students also have the opportunity to travel over to Thailand for ten days to help teach English as a foreign language as well as taking in the sights and sounds it has to offer.
Other recent trips include:
- South Africa
- Mount Kilimanjaro
All of our visits add a richness and depth to learning a subject by actually experiencing many of the key locations, as well as giving our students the opportunity to visit places and partake in activities they may not get the chance to do again.
Trips form part of Wyke’s Enrichment Programme, which incorporates many other vocational, academic and sporting activities. As you can imagine, every trip is highly sought after and our students always have a fantastic experience, creating memories and making friends.
