On the sporting front, Wyke is nationally renowned for its sporting excellence – twice winners of “Sports College of the Year”.
All students have the opportunity to take part in sport even at a recreational level and the College Study programme enables students to play Football, Squash, Badminton, Rugby, Netball, Basketball and other sports. We also give students the chance to take part in other activities such as futsal, cheerleading, archery, bubble football, gymnastics, volleyball, dodgeball and cricket to name just a few. As a college we place a huge emphasis on participation and offer students the chance to compete against other colleges.
Sport is also available as a subject to study. Many young people who want to go into the sports industry can choose A Level Physical Education and BTEC Level 3 in Sport, both successful courses at the College. The College is able to make use of some of the excellent sporting facilities across the city, which combined with excellent teaching in the subjects provides students with a valuable learning experience.
