The QUEST for an Engineering career

By 26th April 2016Course News, News

With the rising cost of Higher Education, more students are taking advantage of scholarships to support them through their studies.

This year, Yesoko Degge and Adam Riches have applied for the QUEST Undergraduate Scholarship.

The programme is run by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and is in place to support students studying Civil Engineering at university.

Students who receive the scholarship are provided with £10,000 over the course of their studies, paid work experience placements during the summer and the potential of employment within a civil engineering company once graduating.

Head of Maths Sally White explained more about the programme. “The QUEST Undergraduate Scholarship gives a fantastic opportunity for any student considering studying Civil Engineering at university. As well as the money to help support students, it provides them with valuable knowledge and experience within the industry which is attractive to future employers. Last year, Lucy Compton received a place on the scheme and is now studying Civil Engineering at Leeds University.”

Upon completing their A Levels, Yesoko and Adam both plan to study Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Sheffield.
