We were delighted to welcome former student Tom Tallentire back to Wyke Sixth Form College to talk about his experiences at global accountancy firm KPMG.
Tom was an A Level student at Wyke four years ago and studied Accounting, Business and Law. After College, he joined KPMG’s Higher Apprenticeship scheme.
Tom spent the day talking to current Accounting students about the wide range of skills and experiences he has gained through his Apprenticeship, including an international secondment.
Students also gained an insight into the different options available to them upon leaving College such as KPMG’s 360 Apprenticeship Scheme, Graduates roles and the specialties within Accounting.
Tom’s talk was gratefully received by all our students, especially those who are now in the process of applying for their next steps.
Commenting on his time at the College, Tom said: “Leaving school and going to College was a really big step for me. However, I had a fantastic experience at Wyke. There’s a great culture and all of the teachers are really supportive.
The College also encouraged me to study hard in order to succeed. A Level Accounting at Wyke definitely prepared me for life at one of the big 4 accountancy firms.”
We would like to thank Tom for his time and wish him all the best for the next steps of his career!
