This year has seen a record number of Wyke students complete an Oxbridge application. Eighteen students from the College’s Flyers programme are now on the path to hopefully securing an offer from their chosen institution.
To help with this challenging process Wyke organised a mock Oxbridge interview evening. The event centred round a carousel of three sessions; a subject specific interview, a “Thinking Skills” interview and an interview workshop.
Jamie Davies, coordinator of the Wyke Flyers programme at the College said, “The rationale for the evening was to let students experience an academic panel asking questions about their reasons for applying to Oxbridge. The sessions were designed to allow students the opportunity to verbalise their thought processes, subject knowledge and develop their thinking skills.”
Our candidates have already taken the Oxbridge admissions test and the outcome of this assessment will determine their progression to the interview stage. An invitation to interview will be sent the successful students at the end of November.
