This year thirty six students from the College’s Flyers programme have applied for a place at Oxbridge, double the once record number of eighteen achieved in 2015.
To help with this challenging process Wyke organised a mock Oxbridge interview evening last week, kindly hosted by the University of Hull. The event centred round a carousel of three sessions; a subject specific interview, a “Thinking Skills” interview and an interview workshop.
Assistant Principal Jamie Davies, coordinator of the Wyke Flyers programme at the College said, “The rationale for the evening was to let students experience an academic panel asking questions about their reasons for applying to Oxbridge. The sessions were designed to allow students the opportunity to verbalise their thought processes, subject knowledge and develop their thinking skills.”
Further information about the Wyke Flyers programme is available at the College in Action day on Friday 17th November and at our next Information Morning on Saturday 2nd December.
