Hear what it is like to study with us from current student Venus Morgan:
Cottingham High School
A Level Biology
A Level Economics
A Level Physical Education
Why did you choose to study at Wyke?
My main motivation for studying at Wyke was the change from High School and the chance to meet new people from a range of different schools.
I also knew that the teachers at Wyke are A Level specialists purely teaching students over 16 which was important to me.
On attending one of the Open Evenings, I loved that the campus was all on one site and loved the facilities here.
What is your favourite experience of Wyke so far?
I have really enjoyed all of the trips, especially the trip I went on as part of the Flyers Programme to Poland. A lot of my main friends were people I met on the trip and it is definitely the highlight of my time at Wyke.
Have you got involved in any of Wyke’s enrichment opportunities?
Last year, I played Netball for the 3rd team. I really enjoyed this as it was so different from my main sport (athletics.) I really enjoyed the team aspect of it and our team coach was really good so we all improved a lot throughout the year.
What is your greatest achievement at Wyke so far?
I was very happy with my end of year mocks last year as I initially struggled with some of my A Levels. With a lot of hard work and support I ended up finishing year 1 with a B which was a huge achievement for me!
What are yours aspirations for the future?
I would love to go to Loughborough University to study Economics.
The end goal is to have a career as a Sports Agent/ Sports Economist.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of College?
Outside of Wyke, I compete in Athletics (100m hurdles and heptathlon.) I do this all around the country and am hoping to get my international vest soon. I am ranked 8th in the UK currently.
Alongside this, I tutor Maths to students at Marvel School and Kelvin School which I really enjoy.
