“…and the finalists today are Wyke Sixth Form College….”
Congratulations to the students and staff from the Wyke Law Department who made College history by making it to the regional final of the National Bar Mock Trial Competition. This is a massive achievement as Wyke was competing against fifteen other experienced schools and colleges, drawn from North East Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
Re-live the announcement by watching the mobile phone video of the moment.
In the final, Wyke narrowly missed out on moving to the national finals to Greenhead College but the experience is definitely one that everyone will never forget. Here’s to next year!
The competition is part of the enrichment offered by the Wyke Law Society. The Bar Mock Trial is a tough challenge and involves a great deal of skill and commitment. This is highly regarded by universities and is a brilliant addition to any reference and personal statement. The Wyke Law Society also arranges visits to universities and courts and a visiting speaker programme. Some guests may well be our former students who are now barristers and solicitors.
Joining the Wyke Law Society helps equip students for tough interviews they may have when applying for university. The Law teachers also, alongside our careers advisors, help students prepare for the LNAT tests required by some of the top law universities.
