Congratulations are in order once again to Wyke’s Law students and Law Society members who for the second year running made it to the final of the National Bar Mock Trial Yorkshire heat on Saturday.
The Bar Mock Trial is a national competition where students from Year 11 to Year 13 can take part. This year, 12 schools and sixth form colleges took part in the Yorkshire heat at Leeds Crown Court.
During the competition, Wyke students took part in three trials in the morning and a fourth trial as part of the final, narrowly missing out on first place.
Reflecting on the result, Law teacher Jenny Carter said: “The students did a really good job again this year and worked really hard preparing before the event. During the trial our students did really well at putting their points across in a real courtroom in front of real judges. All of the staff involved in the event are so proud.”
