16 hours per week, term time only. Working days and times negotiable

SFCA Support Scale Point 17-19, £27,569 – £29,452 pro rata

Wyke is an established, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield. The largest and one of the most successful A-level providers in the area, we offer applicants the opportunity to work alongside committed colleagues who have enabled our students to achieve high levels of success. At Wyke we put the student first and all decisions centre around staff working together to meet their best interests.

We require a knowledgeable and pragmatic H.R. Advisor to join our small team in providing a comprehensive H.R. service to our colleagues. The size of the organisation means the appointee will have exposure to a wide range of H.R. issues and the opportunity to expand their experience and develop skills across the whole scope of H.R. tasks. This will be a busy role and require strong prioritisation skills and no two days will be the same.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing advice on employee relations, terms and conditions, and contract issues. They will be confident using H.R. information systems and have a sound knowledge of employment law. A CIPD qualification or working towards one is important, as are strong English and maths skills. The most important skills to ensure success in the role will include the ability to work with others to solve problems and sound judgement.

This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly and the working days and times are negotiable. We offer a welcoming college with supportive management and a strong programme of staff development as well as a modern environment and high standards of student behaviour. 95% of staff said they would recommend the College as a good place to work in the February 2022 Staff Pulse Survey. Members of staff are initially paid for 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and have access to a defined benefit pension scheme (LGPS).

The College takes safeguarding extremely seriously and a full range of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this post.
