Last week, 12 of our AS and A2 Accounting students took part in the BASE 2016 Competition at the University of Hull, an event ran by the ICAEW (The Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales).
The Wyke team were given the task of analysing a case study with the support of a mentor who currently works for Accounting firm PWC. In the afternoon, the students presented their findings to a board of directors.
Following the presentation, Wyke were announced as the runners up in the competition. Accounting teacher Nicola Baker accompanied the students to the event. She said: “The students performed extremely well and I am so proud of all who took part. The event as a whole was a great experience and provided a valuable insight into the world of accountancy.”
