Exam Entries

Students will be entered for those exams linked to the courses they are enrolled on (subject to satisfactory attendance and production of the necessary coursework throughout the course). External exams are scheduled for May and June each year and students will be issued with their individual exam timetable prior to the exam period.

Our dedicated Exams Officers are available to answer any questions and queries at the main repetitions.

Non-taught Courses

Students who would like to be entered for examinations for which there is no teaching provided by the College (eg Arabic, Urdu, Chinese) need to obtain an external candidate exam entry form and return it, completed by January. Ask the Exams Officer for more information.

Re-sits

Students are expected to pay the entry fee for re-sitting a module, where this is possible. This applies to A Level and GCSE courses. These fees must be paid in advance, and the entry will not be made without payment. Details of these fees are available from the Exams Officer.

Results

Results are issued to students in person on the dates specified by the exam boards. We will not issue results over the telephone without prior arrangements.

AS/A-Level Results Day: Thursday 16th August 2018 (9.30AM)

GCSE Results Day: Thursday 23rd August 2018 (10.00AM)

Special Exam Arrangements

Students who have had any special arrangements for examinations at a previous school (eg up to 25% extra time) or have a specific learning difficulty/medical condition that may warrant special arrangements, could be entitled to the same arrangements here at Wyke. This will need to be discussed and verified by our Learning Support Coordinator, Margaret Cordeaux. To do so, supporting evidence from a previous school or medical evidence will need to be provided, or an assessment can be carried out by an appropriate member of staff who is specially trained to deal with the relevant testing. This must be completed by November.

Language Dictionaries

If English is not your son/daughter’s first language, they may wish to use a bilingual translation dictionary in some of their exams. Permission has to be sought from the exam boards, so please discuss with the Exams Officer as soon as possible and no later than the end of November.
