Hands under UV light

Forensic Science is rapidly becoming one of the most popular vocational career paths that students want to pursue after their time at college.

Yesterday, our Applied Science students met Tony Dickinson, a retired Police Officer who worked as a Crime Scene Manager. The talk with Tony links with the Forensic Science module offered as part of the Applied Science course.

While talking to the students, Tony discussed some of the techniques that are used during investigations, showing the students photographs and evidence from crime scenes. Tony also demonstrated how UV light is used during crime investigations to detect skin and fibres of clothing.
