“Wyke Sports Personality” Dulcie Mudd celebrated her A level results with an interview on local radio station KCFM. Dulcie achieved Bs in Applied Science, PE and Psychology. These excellent grades have secured her a place on Paramedic Science at Hull University, a profession she has always wanted to pursue.

Alongside her studies Dulcie was also a key member of the college’s netball team, regularly competing in cup and league games.

After she opened her results Dulcie had some sound advice for new students. “My advice would be to work really hard from the start but also enjoy it as it flies by. Taking part in sports teams or any extracurricular activity is also something I would also advise.”

Wyke Strike Partnership with Hull City Ladies

By | News, On Campus, Physical Education, Sport

Wyke have just signed a partnership agreement with Hull City Ladies FC. For the 2016-17 season the college will be hosting the club’s junior development centre, a training camp used weekly by gifted 9-16 year olds from across the city. As part of this new relationship, Wyke PE and Sport students will support coaching sessions and the training kit will also display the Wyke logo. The concept behind this new partnership is to ensure that the pathway from school to a post-16 playing career is seamlessly transparent.

Six members of the current Hull City Ladies squad also attend Wyke and form part of the college team that has progressed to two successive National College Cup finals. With this obvious synergy the opportunity to work together was one that both the College and the club couldn’t resist. Mark Lucid, Head of Sport at Wyke said “When I was approached by the club about working together I immediately saw it as a “win win” situation. It’s a great way to support some of most successful footballers beyond the college campus.”

The Wyke logo will now appear on the official Hull City Ladies website and the College will also actively promote the fixtures to students and staff at Wyke. For more information visit http://hullcityladies.com
