The College would like to congratulate our students who participated in the 2016 British Biology Olympiad. Approximately 7,200 students from across the country entered the contest, with 22 of these entries coming from Wyke students.
The competition consisted of two examination papers taken in January which were designed to assess knowledge of Biology beyond A-Level.
The students that took part from the College placed highly in the challenging test and received commendations from the Olympiad association.
Zoe Booth, Jess Sharpe and Josh Leeman achieved Bronze awards, which placed them in the top 15.5% of competitors nationally. Tom McKenzie and Holly Smith achieved Silver awards, which placed them in the top 9.5%.
Each of the Bronze and Silver winners were invited to the Royal Institution in London for the official prize-giving ceremony which took place on Thursday.
Well done to all.
