During the October Half Term, 11 of our students walked and all completed a 31 mile walk from Spurn Point on the East Yorkshire coast to Wyke Sixth Form College.
Nine of the students involved in the walk were fundraising for the College’s annual trip to South Africa. In total, the students raised an estimated £2000 from sponsorship.
Some of the money raised will be used to help an orphanage in South Africa ran by the Botshabelo charity. The other funds will be used to purchase building supplies to improve the living conditions of people in the surrounding area.
The other two students were raising funds for their Duke of Edinburgh Gold award. Wyke is the only College in Hull to provide this enrichment activity for its students. They had a successful day and raised an estimated £200 in sponsorship.
Congratulations to everyone that took part.
