Transport to Wyke Start

All our bus and minibus services will be running during Wyke Start. Between the 3rd-5th July ALL our services are FREE to students attending the college.

Timetables for the inward journey are available on our travel page. The outward journey times need to be adjusted by 25 minutes as the Wyke Start day ends at 3.30pm, not 4.00pm.

If you need to journey to Wyke by a public service bus or train, as you are unable to take college transport, the college will reimburse you. To receive this refund, please make sure you retain your tickets as proof of payment. Refunds will be issued on Wednesday, 5th July.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund private taxi hire or the cost of fuel.

Tips for Wyke Start Travel

  • Be at your bus stop at least 5 minutes before the timetabled time.
  • The bus will stop at all official bus stops along the route. We only publish times for a few key bus stops to limit the length of our timetables.
  • When you see the bus, please make sure you put your hand out to signal to the bus driver that you want them to stop.
  • On some routes several buses will operate. If a bus is full the driver will inform you that another bus will be at the bus stop shortly.
  • Finally, be friendly! The bus is an ideal opportunity to make friends. Don’t be afraid to sit next to someone you don’t know -they’re in the same situation as you.

Wyke Start Summer Work

Most subjects at Wyke have set summer work to be completed by enrolment or the first lesson of the new term. These assignments are available on the Wyke Start Summer Work 2017 page.
