Students Star with Royal Ballet

Wyke students with Xander Parish

Congratulations to Daisy Betts, Keziah Dean, Isabelle Heath, Mia Stocks, Jade Thrustle, Eden Walker and Amelia Swift on their performance on the opening night of Hull New Theatre.

The dance they were selected to perform with Royal Ballet Principals was a contemporary ballet, called ‘Death of the Spoken Word’.

The concept behind the dance is that in today’s modern world of technology, people don’t speak to each other anymore. Everything is done by message, social media or emails. The dance explores the reality that without technology, people would speak face to face much more.

An excellent, modern day piece choreographed by the Head of Dance at Napa, Julie Lovewell, and Hannah Goodhall.

The group also performed outside during the day at Hull Trinity Square. There is a compilation of this public performance together with an extract from their dress rehearsal on the College YouTube channel https://youtu.be/IPFNmUp24yc
