GCSE – Mathematics


We have the course for you if you have yet to get that grade 4 in Maths GCSE. Achieving at least a C or grade 4 in GCSE Maths is a requirement of post-sixteen education. Some students will study GCSE Maths alongside a level 3 programme, others will take the GCSE as part of their single year of level 2 study.

  • Who Is This Course For?

    We have the course for you if you have yet to get that grade 4 in Maths GCSE. Achieving at least a C or grade 4 in GCSE Maths is a requirement of post-sixteen education. Some students will study GCSE Maths alongside a level 3 programme, others will take the GCSE as part of their single year of level 2 study.

  • Course Details:

    Foundation Level GCSE Maths, is for students who already have a grade 3, and is designed to get your grade up to a 4/5. The course addresses all the material covered in school and tries to rectify misunderstandings needed to improve your grade.

    Assessment is by three examinations taken in May/June. There may be an opportunity for some students on the Foundation course to take the GCSE in November.

  • Progression:

    Students who successfully pass their single level two year at Wyke can look to progress onto level three at the College or use their qualifications to access another course, apprenticeship or employment opportunity offered by another provider.

    For students on a level three programme, GCSE Maths is a requirement for university entry.
