    We have the course for you if you;

    • have yet to get that C grade in maths GCSE,
    • want to achieve a new qualification in maths as well as your grade C in maths GCSE.
  • Course Details:

    Two courses are available; the content of each is below:

    • Foundation Level GCSE Maths, is for students who already have a grade D, and is designed to get your grade up to a C. The course addresses all the material covered in school and tries to rectify misunderstandings needed to improve your grade.

    Assessment is by examinations taken in May/June. There may be an opportunity for some students on the Foundation course to take the GCSE in November.

    • Use of Maths Higher Level, is for students who already have a grade C from either the Higher or Foundation Level and it is designed to give you an additional maths qualification. This is a course which includes use of data, financial management, algebra and graphs.

    Assessment is by four examinations taken in May/June. There is a Core Paper and a paper for each of Data, Financial Management, and Algebra and Graphs. A calculator is required for each paper.

  • Progression:

    Students who successfully pass their single level two year at Wyke can look to progress onto level three at the College or use their qualifications to access another course, apprenticeship or employment opportunity offered by another provider.

    For students on a level three programme, GCSE Maths is a requirement for university entry.
