Bessie Hamilton

Route to an Advanced Apprenticeship

By | Course News, News

Wyke has an excellent reputation in providing students with a route to university but in recent years a growing number are progressing from College to advanced apprenticeships. An advanced apprenticeship not only provides professional training but may also offer a sponsored degree, an excellent way to minimise the cost of higher education whilst working for an employer.

This month, one of our former students Bessie Hamilton came back to Wyke to talk to students about her advanced apprenticeship. After choosing to study at Wyke because of its A Level Accounting course, Bessie gained a sponsored degree in Accounting through accounting firm KPMG. Throughout her day back at Wyke, Bessie talked to Year 12 and Year 13 classes about her experience of applying for an advanced apprenticeship, studying at Durham University and working in Edinburgh for the accounting firm.

If you want your success story to start at Wyke, applications for 2016/2017 are now open: and if you’re interested in Accounting go to the Course page for more information:
