Do you play an instrument? Whether you’re a violinist, flautist, percussionist or tuba player (or anything in between), come and join our orchestra! There are two dedicated music concerts per year, alongside other cross college performance opportunities in the year. Ideally, you’ll be Grade 4 standard or above on your instrument, and there is no audition process. It is strongly recommended that A Level music students join the orchestra.
There are also opportunities to take on the role of section leader and lead splinter groups within the orchestra.
Joining the orchestra also gives you access to discounted Music Peri lessons at the college (please see more info on Music Lessons).
• Playing a range of pieces from Classical to Film Music, Musical Theatre and Pop Music
• Potential opportunity for ensemble leading of your section.
• We also welcome pianists/keyboardists, guitarists, bassists and drummers and will try to accommodate everyone’s instrument in the choice of repertoire.
Timetabled session in the theatre every Wednesday 14:50-16:00.
Ensemble performance, a range of repertoire from Christmas music to stage and screen.
You will need your own instrument, Grade 4 or above standard. There are no other associated costs but there are opportunities for subsidy of music lessons.
